Who We Are
Horizons Meals On Wheels helps older adults and persons with disabilities meet their daily nutritional needs, delivering hot, fresh restaurant-quality food 5 days a week. Volunteers who make deliveries provide safety checks, as well as emotional and social support.
Deliveries only take about an hour, some routes can take about 2.5 depending on how chatty a person is. You can sign up to do it once a week or once a month – whatever’s the right amount for you, or be a substitute drive and fill routes as needed.
Delivering meals is a simple and rewarding way to help seniors and people with disabilities in need of hot meals and a daily visit from a friendly face, and you can do it over lunch! All you need to do is sign up, and you’ll be connected with your neighborhood Meals on Wheels program to get started.

What We Do
Our Vision
Creating a promising future for the individuals and families we serve by providing help and hope through the work we do.
Our Values
Integrity, compassion, and inclusivity.
Meals on Wheels has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954 – to support our senior neighbors to extend their independence and health as they age. What started as a compassionate idea has grown into one of the largest and most effective social movements in America, currently supporting the network of programs to deliver 223 million meals to 2.4 million seniors each year nationwide in virtually every community in the country.
Now more than ever, Meals on Wheels is a vital solution to the three biggest threats to our seniors: inadequate nutrition, isolation and safety. Delivering much more than a meal, Meals on Wheels provides the safety check, the warm smile and friendly conversation that enable millions of seniors to remain in their own homes, where they want to be. Nearly 60% of Meals on Wheels home delivery clients live alone and often the volunteer is the only person they see all day.
