Opportunities From: United Way Volunteer Center

On Shift Clothing Workers help distribute clothing to the families we serve during our distribution hours. This has two volunteer positions for people to choose from which include desk worker and check out.  Desk workers check-in families and determine how many clothing items they could choose during their visit. Volunteers are also there to help families find the clothing items they are needing. After families are done shopping they will record how many clothing items they take home. Clothing workers sort through all clothing donations and put them in our community clothing closet. Processing clothing donations include: determining if the quality of clothing is acceptable, labeling the size and hanging up clothing, taking unwanted clothing to Goodwill. NLCP recently is in desperate need of volunteers to sort through the clothing that we have. Stocking volunteers work during times outside of our distribution hours. This position helps restock our shelves so that they are ready for when we are open. Duties include straightening/organizing shelves, going through produce and restocking with fresh produce, stocking shelf-stable shelves, and processing donations. Volunteer times are flexible in that it can be anytime that we are not open.  If you are interested in being a volunteer you can reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Sloane Terrill by emailing volunteer@northlibertycommunitypantry.org

Pantry shift workers greet families coming to shop, help families shop, weigh food after it is selected, stock shelves, and complete general cleaning and organizing. The volunteer positions that we offer are Desk Worker*, Food Processor (2), Scale Worker, Sacker, and Floater.  Our distribution times are: Monday: 10AM - 12 PM Tuesday: 10 AM - 12 PM, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday: 10 AM - 12 PM  Thursday: 10 AM - 12 PM, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Saturday: 10 AM - 12 PM    If you are interested in volunteering on-shift, please contact volunteer@northlibertycommunitypantry.org to start the volunteer onboarding process. 

 

*Additional training required

These are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 3:30-6 PM. Feel free to come volunteer for the whole time or part of the time as your schedule allows. These times are lead by an experienced volunteer and/or staff member.
