Opportunities From: United Way Volunteer Center

The Jingle Bell Run will take place at Terry Trueblood Rec Area.  The morning will kick off with activities for all ages and will include visits with Santa, a kids fun run, and a 5K.  We will need a wide variety of volunteer help including setting up, tearing down, help serving water along the route, putting signs/banners up, and more!  It will be a fun-filled event and all volunteers will receive a holiday themed event long sleeve t-shirt! 

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Arthritis Foundation in providing tools and resources for the approx. 60M American's who have been diagnosed with America's #1 cause of disability.  

We are in the very early stages of planning a Jingle Bell Run 5K that will be held in Iowa City in November 2025!  We are looking for volunteers to help by serving as committee chairs.  These chair-people will be helping coordinate/oversee categories including:  Entertainment chair (potential band/musician for post-race entertainment, carolers for along the race route, Santa for pictures, etc.), volunteer chair (help recruit volunteers for planning process and race day, assist with coordinating day-of volunteer tasks), In-Kind Donation Chair (reach out to local businesses to inquire about donations for event), and Participant Recruitment/Engagement Chair (help post about the event on website and by placing signage around Iowa City, connect with U of I and other local universities to encourage student participation), & more! This will be a fun-filled, holiday themed event for all ages!
