Iowa City Animal Care And Adoption Center

The mission of the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center is to give sanctuary to animals, promote spay and neuter programs, and provide education and a network of animal related resources to the public. We promote the humane treatment of animals through the enforcement of local and state laws enacted to protect both animals and the public.

The Animal Center accepts lost, stray, and unwanted animals from the Johnson County area. The animals receive medical treatment and temperament evaluations before they are put up for adoption. We need volunteers to help with socialization, mental and physical exercise, and to provide daily care and love for the animals while they are waiting for their forever home. Our supporting organization, Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (FACF) needs volunteers to assist with events and fundraising opportunties. Together our agencies seek health, comfort, freedom from fear, and a loving guardian for all our homeless companion animals.
