PATV

PATV is a resource dedicated to diversity in community communication. PATV provides opportunities for local citizens to make use of current technology to exchange information and ideas and participate in the democratic process.  It also promotes media literacy by providing workshops in media production and hosting lectures that focus on critical viewing.

We are a cable TV access channel (18) in Iowa City. The access center has a working studio, editing stations and portable equipment that any community member can use to make programs that play on PATV Channel 18 in Iowa City and Coralville. PATV is available in over 18,000 homes in the area and all programs are sponsored and produced by local community members.  Our volunteer members can check out cameras, studio equipment, and editing computers for use in creating television programming. Volunteers need to attend a free "Guidelines" class offered on the first Tuesday of the month from 6-7pm.
