Who We Are

The mission of the Englert Theatre is to create exceptional experiences. We provide diverse programming, educational opportunities and exposure to the performing and visual arts. Our focus is on highlighting the talents of local performers, artists and ensembles as well as hosting regional, national and international touring performances.

What We Do

The Englert Theatre is proud to host a variety of local performing artists, as well as welcoming artists from all over the world in the 718-seat, fully renovated theatre. Enjoy the beauty of this historic building and the talent on the stage as a volunteer and audience member. There are many ways that volunteers participate at the Englert. Ushering shows, hanging posters, and putting together mailings are just a few of the ways that you can get involved. However, the most popular by far is ushering performances. Ushers tear tickets, greet patrons, hand out playbills, and help the House Manager handle any unexpected circumstances during a performance. Whether you have one hour or ten, you are welcome to volunteer at the Englert. For more information, contact Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Shonrock at sarah@englert.org, (319) 688-2653 ext. 109.
